First saw this done back in November-ish by Andy Piper and thought it was a very cute idea.
Just got these in. Top book is all about when to quit, sounds obvious but I like Seth Godin and was intrigued by this one. ReWork is sub-titled ‘change the way you work forever’ and on the cover Seth Godin says ‘ignore this book at your peril’, nuff said. The Social Media Marketing Book I have just started, it’s kinda brief but a good intro to sites and services I haven’t played with yet, easy to read.
The last one, just came today, which prompted me to take the picture. The Mabinogion is a storytellers book, something I would love to add to my improv skills when I get the time! Eleven tales by unknown authors make up this Welsh medieval masterpiece. There are dragons, witches, hunting for boars, arthurian lore and more. I can’t wait. I will get a fresh bag of coffee make a batch, settle in and be transported away. Good times.
This is something my ‘other half’ has put together on her site FeelGoodZone.
Hello folks
Here’s my latest blog posts. I was pleased to be able to interview Peter Owen-Jones, the well known Priest ‘off the telly’ who’s known for his programmes Around the World in 80 Faiths, an Extreme Pilgrim, The Lost Gospels and others. His latest documentary, just broadcast this week is for the National Geographic channel.
I spoke to Peter about faith, his passion for writing and if faith can be connected with living an holistic life. The interview is split into 2 parts and a video will be loaded soon onto Youtube.
Have a safe and festive time.

The snow came early and canceled the ceremonial switching on of the xmas tree by a 3rd rate celebrity! Those 30 of us that came went to the pub, just there on the right. We left last in NO traffic and took this pic in the middle of the road. We were the only people to use the road all night and we were walking! How mad is that?

Antony Mayfield gave an excellent presentation about being social at this months Digital Surrey networking event hosted by Farnham Art College. He is listening to a question in the above pic (apologies for quality as he was in a dark corner). I read his book months ago and so was quite excited to hear from the man himself.

One of the points he made was that as humans we are social and that the web is an ultrasocial space. Using the tools for this space (such as Twitter) takes time to learn and understand. He mentioned 40 hours, similar to learning to drive or learning an instrument. He was clear about the web being a space that exists in the world, rather than we exist in the web and it’s a tool for being social. Social is what it means to be human.
He went on to discuss the 9 rules in book. 1. Check your Google shadow regularly. 2. Be the first/best source of information about yourself. 3. Understand networks and which ones are important to you. 4. Be present in your networks. 5.Be useful. 6. Draw a line between private and public. 7. Remember that you are always on the record. 8. Get a thicker skin. 9. Don’t think of the web as another world. I don’t want to enlarge upon these 9 points (they are downloadable from his site as a book sample anyway) as this site is about images more than words.
However, I would encourage you to get the book, it changed my online world, it’s why I now blog rather than just have a static site and why I am learning to use Twitter, etc. I’m working my way thru the rest of his recommendations, bit by bit as I find the time, watch this space for how I do.
